Up until now I’ve not been especially inpired by this guy, except, of course for the whole Blind Faith / Cream thing, and, yes there was that collaboration with Duane Allman and, sure, the whole unplugged “If I See You in Heaven” thing that made me cry, but otherwise, until now, you know, he just hastn’t, like, overwhemed me, ya hey. But now, he has.

    I dunno. Maybe I’m not enough of a guitar geek (meant descriptively, not disparagingly). Also, it’s going to take a LOT to make up for “Darling, You Look Beautiful Tonight,” also known as “Homage to Karo Syrup.”

  5. I think a combination of a beer buzz and the fact that I had never heard Clapton just “let loose,” Power Cave style, briefly inspired a drunk post reaction. I’m back to being unimpressed, with exceptions as noted above.

    Yeah, it’s OK. Dead-style hippie avant-garde. Trippy, man. I pretty much like it, especially when it ends before getting too self-indulgent.

    Pick/finger coordination in the first 40″ seems a bit sloppy — Eric might be experiencing a bit of bunching.

    It’s a fake – like overdubbed by someone with less chops but more ‘soul’. Go back to being unimpressed.
